Props and Costumes

Props:

Plastic Machete-

Although this prop of a 12 inch plastic machete isn't the most realistic looking of all my props, it is still going to be used in the filming of my teaser trailer as the lighting in the scene in which  plan on using the weapon will be dark which means the lack of detail wont be as noticeable and the blood stain will look very effective as it will look like my villain has used the machete already. I plan on using this prop towards the ending of my teaser trailer with my villain wielding it at the head one of my character Alison while shes tied up in a chair in the garage.

Fake Blood Capsules-

I bought these blood capsules from a fancy dress shop (the same goes for the machete above) so I could use them as a prop in my teaser trailer to help create a realist effect when my victims are spitting up blood from being stabbed. I will be using these capsules when filming the character Nadi being stabbed outside the house and when the character Alison is being stabbed while being tied up in a chair in the garage.

Trick Fold Down Knife-

Again I bought this fold down knife from a fancy dress shop in order to be able to use it as a prop when filming my victims being stabbed. The fold down knife makes it look more realistic, as if the knife is actually penetrating their skin when in fact it is just folding into it handle. I will be using the knife while filming Nadi being stabbed outside and Alison being stabbed while tied up in the garage.

Fake Blood-

I have some fake blood I bought for Halloween but haven't yet used any so I plan on using it as a prop in my trailer as it is the only thing I can use that looks as close to real blood as I can get. I plan on using the fake blood when both Nadi and Alison get stabbed, when Kate is on the floor dying and when the bloody hand hits the window in the kitchen.

Masking Tape-

The masking Tape will be used when outlining Kate's body while she lays dead on the dinning room floor. I am using masking tape as it will be easy to remove from the floor where as white chalk will have to be scrubbed off the floor.

Yellow Cards-

The yellow cards I will be using as props will have numbers on them and will be used along with the masking tape outline. I am using numbered yellow cards in order to make the scene where Kate is found by the police more realistic to the audience.

Kitchen Knife-

I will be using the kitchen knife when filming Bloody Mary holding the knife as well as when taking photos as the kitchen knife looks more authentic than the fake machete and trick fold down knife. But i will not be using the knife when any other characters are in the shot due to safety reasons.

Costumes:

Bloody White Dress-

The bloody white dress will be the costume for my main character, Bloody Mary. The dress was originally a long skirt but I have adjusted it so it will now be worn as a strapless, white, floaty dress. I have also created blood stains on the dress by flicking fake blood onto the dress as well as dissolving some blood capsules into water and flicking that solution onto the dress as well. It outcome was a sucess and it looks very creepy when on my actor when she has got all the makeup on as well.

Makeup-

I will be using a lot of makeup on my main character, Bloody Mary, in order to make her look dead. I did think about using facepaints but then I decided against them as it wouldn't look as realistic, but instead more fancy dress. I will be using a white powered on her face in order to make her pale and dead, I will then be using a black eye shadow around the eye to make her eyes look dead. This will then be linned with grey, green and brown eye shadow as it makes her skin look like its rotting. I will also be using the black, grey, green and brown shadow on her cheek bones so she looks more dead. lastly I will be using a blue lipstick and black eye liner on her lips to finish off the look.

White Eye Contact Lenses-

The white eye contact lenses are essential for the cotume of bloody mary as they are what makes her costume look scary and effective. They look scary and will help scare my audience when watching my trailer as well as veiwing my website and poster.

Chosen Actors

As I have decided to use five characters, I shall have to find five suitable actors to play the roles  of each character. There are two main factors I have to take into consideration while choosing my actors and they are that each actor has to take the acting seriously if I want my trailer to look like an official trailer and I have to be sure that they will be available when I am filming.

For the role of Bloody Mary I have narrowed down two possible actors to play her character, (there images are below). Whoever I chose to play Bloody Mary needs to be able to but in contacts as I want my main character to have white eyes with the use of contacts, they also have to have a fairly slim figure in order to fit into the clothes I have bought for Bloody Mary to wear.

To the left is Paige Ward and to the right is Amy Groom. I have chosen these two to possibly play my main role as I feel they would both suit my main character for different reasons. The reason for considering Paige to play Bloody Mary is because she has long straight hair that (when down) I could pull across a little bit of her face in order to create a scary look (sort of like the grudge but without all her hair in her face). She would also fit into the clothing I have bought and she is able to put in contacts. My second option, Amy, has been considered because she has wild curly hair which would look good and could connote my killers wild/crazy side. She too will also fit into the clothing bought but I have yet to ask her if she will be able to wear contacts.

In order to check their availability and whether they are willing to play the role of Bloody Mary in my horror teaser trailer I have contacted both Paige and Amy and asked them if they would like to be in my horror teaser trailer, whether they will be free, and if they can wear contacts. Paige said she would happily play the role of Bloody Mary. She also stated that she will be free for the filming and she can also wear contacts ticking all the boxes needed to be able to play the role of Bloody Mary. Amy also said she would love to play the role of Bloody Mary, but she would not be available when I am filming and she can not wear contacts so unfortunately that has ruled Amy out from being in my horror teaser trailer leaving Paige Ward to play my lead role.

I have four other roles to be filled of the victims in my teaser trailer and they are for the characters of Alison, Kate, Tricia and Nadi. I have five possible candidates to consider for this role (as shown below). The people who play this role must take it seriously and can not be allergic to fake blood or fake blood capsules. In order to play Alison the actor must not mind being tied up and having masking tape ripped off her face and having to use a fake blood capsule to spit of blood. Kate must not mind having to fall down the stairs (safely of course) and have fake blood on her hand. Tricia will have to be played by someone who can hold their breathe long enough to film them "drowned" in the bath tub and must not mind being dragged along carpet. and Lastly Nadi must not mind using a blood capsule to spit out fake blood.

Starting from the top left we have Chanika Hikkaduwage, (top right) Banita Sharma, (middle left) Georgia Coan, (middle right) Gwynneth Gordon and (bottom) Gill Ingram. The reason for considering these five people to play a part in my trailer as one of my four victims is because I can trust these people to take a part in my trailer seriously helping me produce a more believable teaser trailer.

I have contacted all five possible actors and asked them if they would be availible to take part in my teaser trailer which all but one replied yes, Georgia unfortunatley wouldn't be availible on the dates I plan on filming, leaving me with my four chosen actors. In order to decide who would play who I told Gill, Chanika, Gwynneth and Banita what each character involves and Gill (having been in plays) was fine with me assigning her the character of Alison who does the most speaking and requires the most acting, she also said that she wouldn't mind beinging tied up and having masking tape ripped off her lips. Chanika wanted the character which required the least amount of talking and acting so I assigned her with the character of Nadi and double checked that she doesn't mind having a blood capsule in her mouth and isn't allergic to fake blood, which she isn't. I asked if Banita and Gwynneth would mind "falling down the stairs" or holding there breathe under water, Banita offered to be the character who drowns in the bath tub which is Tricia, and said she wouldn't mind being dragged on carpet, plus she also has long nails which will help make a creepy scratching noise as shes dragged across the carpet. Gwynneth offered to be Kate who falls down the stairs and she isnt illergic to fake blood which is also good news.

I now have all my characters ready and just have to sort out the props and costumes and then im ready to film.
