Conventions of a Horror Movie Website

Website Layout
A website layout is crucial to its ease of use and how popular it is. If its layout is complicated and hard to understand where the navigation is and so on then people will go else where.

Colour Scheme
The colour scheme of a films website has to link to its trailer/movie/poster so it combines all of them together so it is easily recognised that the website belongs to the film without the confusion that it may be for another movie.

Graphics
If a website is not interesting then a visitor will get bored and go else where which is why graphics are crucial to a websites success. Whether its for the websites background or images that are on the websites webpages, they must be interesting, have meaning and relate to the movie.

Text
Too much text on a movie website can bore visitors and encourage them to do something else or get distracted, but this doesn't mean text shouldn't be used in the creation of a website, as without text the veiwer will not know what they are looking at, so text should be used when needed but be consiserate of how much text there is and ensure its relevant.

Videos
Movie websites almost always have videos of there trailers, advertising the movie. and the trailers are normally always found on the homepage or first page that opens when the website is accessed.

Sound
If sound is used on a movie's website then it must relate to the genre of the movie or can be used to add more interactivity to your website when clicking buttons and so on.
